Fifty-two pieces of handmade Indian wall art, $45 to $320. Carved and painted mango wood, mirror work set by hand, nail-and-thread string art, and a small number of signed originals. Everything here is made by hand in India and hangs on a dry interior wall.
Which one do you need
Wall plates, 10 inch — $45. Four listings of hand-painted wooden plates: Pichwai cows, Krishna and peacock, Ram Sita and Krishna, and boho portraits with elephants. The cheapest way in, and the format people buy in threes and fives for a gallery wall. Not food safe.
Animal heads — $75 to $80. Carved mango wood cow and Nandi heads across four listings in nine, six, six and five colourways, plus a 17-inch elephant head and a longhorn bull head. The bull is a different object from the cow heads: broader silhouette, 16x10.5x8 inches and twice the weight. All mount on a keyhole slot in a flat backing plate.
Jharokha frames and mirrors — $60 to $235. The Rajasthani palace-window form, from $60 hand-painted mirrors up to signed originals. Covered in full in the jharokha collection linked below.
Mandala discs — $120 to $320. Six designs at 24 inches with a centre mirror at $160, four at 36 inches at $320, and one 24-inch Maroon and Blue panel at $120 that is a solid panel with a small mirrored medallion rather than a mirror — the one to choose for a wall where a mirror is unwanted.
Lippan mirror panels — $60 to $275. The largest group and the most varied. An 18-inch disc in seven deity designs, a 16-inch dot mandala in five colours, a 23x23 White Ganesha, a 24x24 Peacock, four Krishna medallions priced per medallion, and two three-panel sets — Radha Krishna at $275 and Butterfly & Peacock at $250.
24-inch painted panels — $155 to $170. Four single subjects: Adiyogi Shiva, a Warli tribal village scene, Yin Yang, and a Kathakali dancer's face in the pacha green that marks a noble character in Kerala dance-drama.
String art — $90 to $175. Nail and thread stretched across a board to draw a figure in line. A 30-inch Ganesha, a 30-inch Om, and a Golden Gate Bridge at 24x12.
Also here. Carved peacock and elephant wall corbels at $95 to $99, an 18-inch carved mirror with parrots and lotus, and a 24-inch cotton rope evil eye nazar charm at $50.
Where these work
An entryway, above a console or sofa, a stair wall, a gallery grid of plates or 12x10 jharokhas, and a pooja room for the deity panels. The 36-inch mandalas are wall anchors rather than additions.
