Collection: Toran & Door Bandhanwar

A toran, also called a bandhanwar, is the decorative hanging strung across the top of a doorway to mark the entrance as welcoming. Traditionally fresh mango leaves and marigolds, replaced each festival; these are fabric and beadwork versions that come out year after year. Seven here, $14 to $48, in 3FT, 5FT and 6FT widths.

Which one do you need

Measure the doorway first. A standard interior door frame takes the 3FT. A double door, a wide entry or an archway takes the 5FT or 6FT. Every toran here except the Shubh Labh set offers at least two widths on the same product page.

Marigold — $35 to $40. Marigold and Mogra pairs orange blooms with white jasmine. Marigold Mogra Leaf adds green foliage between the flowers, which reads closest to a fresh garland. Marigold Beaded Ball uses woolen beaded balls rather than petals, so it holds its shape better in storage.

Pearl and gota — $35 to $48. Pearl Marigold Gota Patti combines marigolds with gota patti ribbon work and pearl drops, the dressiest option here. Jasmine and Pink Bud is the softer palette, white mogra with pink buds.
