The pieces that sit on a console, a mantel, a shelf or a side table — hand-painted wooden figures, carved elephant stools, brass and antique silver centerpieces, and a few things that are furniture in miniature. Most are Rajasthani in origin, all are made by hand in India, and the range runs from $49 to $550.

Which one do you need

Painted wooden figures. The Rajasthani horse comes in 10-inch and 12-inch: the 10 is the one people buy in pairs for a shelf, the 12 stands alone on a console. The horse is a Rajasthani motif because of Ramdevji, the folk deity depicted riding one. Isar and Gangaur are a married pair of dolls carried in procession during the Gangaur festival, sold here as a hand-painted pair in six colourways. There is also a nine-inch carved Nandi in ten colours, and a giraffe or bird pair at $49 that is the least expensive way into the range.

Elephant stools. Six listings of a carved elephant supporting a round top, usable as a side table, a plant stand or a stack point beside a sofa. They differ by finish: natural mango wood in three designs and dark brown in four at $135, black, gold or grey at $135, and three hand-painted versions — white and red, black and orange, red and blue — at $140.

Seating that reads as decor. The charpai rope stool in nine colours, and the larger handwoven jute bench. Both use the traditional charpai weave over a mango wood frame.

Metal centerpieces. A brass Ganesha urli, a hand-engraved brass vase, a masala dabba, a Kamdhenu cow with calf, a large brass Ganesha, a 24-inch Krishna, and in antique silver a foliage vase and a fruit bowl.
