A tiered diya stand: two discs on a central rod, each ringed with traditional diya cups so eighteen flames sit at two heights. It stands on a turned pedestal foot with a finial and ring on top. At 15.75 inches it is the table-height version — low enough to sit between people at dinner and still be talked across.

Why this one

  • Eighteen diyas, ten below and eight above. One object does the work of arranging eighteen separate lamps, and you can light it in under a minute.
  • Proper diya cups. Each is pressed in the classic diya shape with a pointed lip, so oil and a cotton wick sit correctly. Tealights drop straight in as well.

Frequently asked questions

Oil diyas or tealights?
Either. The cups are the traditional diya shape with a pointed lip, so oil and a cotton wick sit correctly. Standard tealights also drop straight in.
How is this different from the three-layer stand?
Height and count. This one is 15.75 inches with 18 cups; the three-layer is 24 inches with 30. Same design and finish. This is the table one, that is the floor and entrance one.
Will it block the view across a dining table?
No. At 15.75 inches the top tier sits above eye level for a seated diner but the stem is slim, so it does not wall off the table the way a solid centrepiece does.
What is the ring at the top for?
A finial you can lift it by when empty. We would not hang it with the diyas lit or filled.
Can I fill it with water?
We would not. The base metal is iron under a gold polish, and standing water will eventually work under the finish and cause rust. Use it dry — petals, tealights, dry flowers — or float things in a separate glass or brass bowl set inside it. If it does get wet, dry it straight away.
Does it come apart?
It arrives assembled and stays that way.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. This is iron under a gold polish, so keep it dry — do not wash it, do not put it in the dishwasher, and do not leave it outdoors overnight. Wipe out any spilled wax or oil once it has cooled.
Can I use it outdoors?
For an evening under cover, yes. Bring it in afterwards.
