A tiered diya stand: three discs stacked on a central rod, each ringed with traditional diya cups so thirty flames sit at three different heights. It stands on a turned pedestal foot and is topped with a finial and ring. At 24 inches it is the tall one, meant to be seen from across a room rather than looked down into.

Why this one

Thirty diyas on one stand. Twelve on the bottom tier, ten on the middle, eight on the top. Lighting one object gets you the effect of scattering thirty.
Proper diya cups, not plain wells. Each cup is pressed in the classic diya shape with a pointed lip, so it takes oil and a cotton wick as readily as a tealight.

Frequently asked questions

Oil diyas or tealights?

Either. The cups are the traditional diya shape with a pointed lip, so oil and a cotton wick sit correctly. Standard tealights also drop straight in.

Does it come apart for storage?

It arrives assembled and is meant to stay that way. At 24 inches it needs a reasonably tall cupboard or a shelf.

What is the ring at the top for?

It is a finial you can lift the stand by when it is empty. We would not hang it with the diyas lit or filled.

Is it stable when all thirty are lit?

Yes. The weight sits in the pedestal foot. Put it somewhere it will not be knocked, as you would with any open flame.

Can I fill it with water?

We would not. The base metal is iron under a gold polish, and standing water will eventually work under the finish and cause rust. Use it dry — petals, tealights, dry flowers — or float things in a separate glass or brass bowl set inside it. If it does get wet, dry it straight away.

How is this different from the two-layer stand?

Height and count. This one is 24 inches with 30 cups; the two-layer is 15.75 inches with 18. Same design, same finish. Buy this one for floor level and entrances, the shorter one for a table.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. This is iron under a gold polish, so keep it dry — do not wash it, do not put it in the dishwasher, and do not leave it outdoors overnight. Wipe out any spilled wax or oil once it has cooled.

Can I use it outdoors?

For an evening on a covered patio, yes. Bring it in afterwards — iron and dew do not mix.
