A hand-embroidered wool backdrop in three hanging panels - a wide lotus centre flanked by two chevron side panels. Assembled it stands about seven and a half feet wide by nearly eight feet tall, which is a full wall behind a couple, a mandap or a mandir.

Why this rather than fabric or flowers

Most event backdrops are printed cloth, draped fabric or fresh flowers. Printed cloth reads flat on camera, draped fabric needs a stylist, and flowers are gone the next morning. This is wool yarn embroidered by hand onto a backed base - it has physical texture, so it photographs with depth under any lighting, and it rolls up afterwards and comes out again for the next event. At this size that is the argument: it is a one-time purchase that replaces a recurring cost.

Because the panels are separate you are not locked to one width. Butted together they give you roughly seven and a half feet; spaced a few inches apart they cover more wall. The centre panel also works on its own behind a mandir or a smaller ceremony.

Which design

Five designs - Swarna, Vatika, Peepal, Prabhat and Anand. They vary in ground colour and in the lotus palette: the range covers green, cream, white and an orange-gold, with the chevron side panels in either magenta or yellow-and-white. The names do not describe the colourways, so look at the photographs before choosing - and if you need a specific ground colour for an event palette, email contact@urliutsav.com before ordering and we will confirm which design matches.

How do I hang it?

Most people hang the panels from a pipe-and-drape frame or a curtain rod, or pin them to a board. We do not supply a frame or hanging hardware - the panels are the product. Plan the rig before the day; a nearly eight-foot panel is not something to improvise on the morning.

Do the three panels join together?

They are separate. Butt them edge to edge for a continuous seven-and-a-half-foot backdrop, or space them for a wider one. There is no zip or seam connecting them.

Can I use just the centre panel?

Yes, and a lot of people do for a smaller setup - 45 inches wide behind a mandir or a sweetheart table works well on its own.

Is it heavy to hang?

It is wool yarn on a canvas backing across three large panels, so it has real weight. Hang it from something structural rather than from adhesive hooks.

Can it go outdoors?

For a dry event under cover, yes. Not in wind or rain - a panel this size catches wind like a sail, and wet wool takes days to dry properly.

Will it look exactly like the photograph?

The design will. The yarn is laid by hand, so embroidery density and exact colour placement vary a little between pieces.

How do I clean and store it?

Spot clean with mild detergent and cool water, and let it dry flat. Roll the panels rather than folding them - a crease in wool yarn takes a long time to drop out.

What if it arrives damaged?

Shipping is insured. Photograph it, email contact@urliutsav.com, and we will replace it or make it right.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days in original condition and packaging. Return shipping is arranged and paid by the customer, and this is a large item - measure your wall and confirm your hanging method before ordering.
