Wall hanging or floor standing?

Both work. This mandir is built to stand, and that is what we recommend — when the mandir sits at the level you sit at, you come to it rather than reaching up to it. Place it directly on the floor, or on a 24-inch bajot to raise it about 6 inches to seated eye level.

Does it arrive assembled?

Yes. It ships fully assembled — no tools and no construction. The only step is flipping the decorative crown into position.

Does it include an interior light?

No. The interior is open and unlit, which lets you fit an LED pooja light of your choice.

Can I keep a lit diya inside?

Use the pull-out drawer. Slide it open and set the diya there, so the flame sits in open air rather than inside the closed cabinet. Keep it clear of the doors and the painted surfaces, and do not leave it burning unattended.

What size idols will fit?

The interior is 16"H × 22"W × 11"D. Measure your tallest murti including its base, and leave room above it for a crown or a small diya.

How much does the drawer hold?

Your everyday pooja essentials — a kumkum box, an incense packet, karpoor, matches, a small bell. It is sized for daily items rather than bulk storage.

What is it made of?

Solid mango wood, finished with hand-embossed painting. Every piece is painted by hand in India, so small variations in the detailing are normal and are a mark of the craft rather than a defect.

How do I care for it?

What if it arrives damaged?

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days, in original condition and packaging. Return shipping is arranged and paid by the customer, so for an item this size please measure your space before ordering.

If you would rather hang it, customers do this successfully — but not on nails or drywall anchors alone. At 12.75 kg it needs a wooden support ledge fixed into a wall stud, with the mandir resting on the timber. A length of wood from any hardware store does the job. Mounting hardware is not included.
