Jharokha Wall Mirror 12x10 – 5 Hand-Painted Colours

The painting

Each frame is painted freehand over a solid ground. Two of these five are the sparse, confident white line work our jharokhas are known for — Red and Gable Green. The other three go further: Faded Purple carries pink and green butterflies across the top corners, Lunar Green runs orange paisley down both sides, and Yellow has small white birds perched in the arch. All five are finished by one hand from base coat to last stroke.

The five colours

• Red — deep red with white scrolling vine
• Gable Green — dark teal-green with dense white line work
• Faded Purple — soft lilac with pink and green floral butterflies
• Yellow — golden yellow with white birds and daisies
• Lunar Green — deep green with orange and yellow paisley

Where it goes

Entryways, powder rooms, bedsides, and apartment walls generally — several reviewers mention hanging it in a rental. Small enough to go where a full-size mirror will not, and light enough to hang on a single nail.

Hanging it

A flat metal bracket is fitted to the back, ready for a single nail or screw. At 800 g one fixing into drywall holds it. Screws and wall anchors are not supplied.

Care

Glass cleaner on the mirror, applied to the cloth rather than sprayed on the frame. Dust the painted surface with a dry cloth only.
