A rangoli laid out in metal: a hammered six-petal flower dish at the centre, ringed by a slim frame carrying nine ball-shaped tealight cups that orbit it. Light all nine and the whole 11.5-inch circle reads as a drawn rangoli, without chalk, rice flour or anything to sweep up afterwards.

Product details

  • Overall diameter: 11.5 inches
  • Tealight cups: 9, on a ring frame
  • Centre: hammered six-petal flower dish
  • Weight: 360 g (approx. 12.7 oz)
  • Material: iron with a gold polish finish
  • Finish: hand-hammered, dimpled
  • Handmade in India
  • Not dishwasher safe. Keep dry.

Why this one

  • Nine tealight cups on one frame. Each is a dimpled hemisphere on its own stem, so the flames sit slightly above the table and circle the centre.
  • The centre is a bowl, not a plate. A hammered six-petal dish that takes petals, a tealight, or a small mound of rangoli powder.
  • 11.5 inches across and only 360 g. Light enough to move around the house through an evening, and to pack away flat.
  • Reusable, unlike a drawn rangoli. It comes out every year and there is nothing to clean off the floor.

Which one do I need

Four gold-finish pieces, four different shapes:

Where it works

  • A dining or coffee table for Diwali, all nine lit
  • An entryway console as a doorstep rangoli that will not blow away
  • A mandir shelf for Navratri or Karthigai Deepam
  • A wedding or mehndi table, one per table
  • A balcony or windowsill, where a floor rangoli is not an option

Gifting

Our most-bought return gift, because it is inexpensive, it is unmistakably festive, and almost nobody already owns one. It suits Diwali above all, and also Navratri, a housewarming and a wedding favour. If you are buying a dozen or more for an event, get in touch before ordering — we can usually help on price at that quantity and confirm stock against your date.

Frequently asked questions

How many tealights does it take?
Nine in the ring cups, plus one in the centre dish if you want it. Standard tealights fit.
Are the cups fixed or removable?
Fixed. The cups and the ring are one piece, so nothing comes loose and nothing gets lost.
Does it come apart for storage?
No, it is a single piece. It is flat enough to slide onto a shelf or into a drawer.
Can I fill it with water?
We would not. The base metal is iron under a gold polish, and standing water will eventually work under the finish and cause rust. Use it dry — petals, tealights, dry flowers — or float things in a separate glass or brass bowl set inside it. If it does get wet, dry it straight away.
Can I use real oil diyas in it?
The cups are hemispheres rather than traditional diya shapes, so they suit tealights better than an oil-and-wick diya, which needs a lip to rest the wick on.
How big is it really?
11.5 inches across the outer ring — about the size of a dinner plate. One of the photographs has the measurement marked on it.
Will wax be hard to get out?
Let it set, then lift it out cold. Do not pour hot water over it.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. This is iron under a gold polish, so keep it dry — do not wash it, do not put it in the dishwasher, and do not leave it outdoors overnight. Wipe out any spilled wax or oil once it has cooled.
Can I order several for an event?
Yes — get in touch before you order if you need more than a few. We can usually help on price for larger quantities and confirm stock before you commit to a date.
What if it arrives damaged?
Every order is insured. Photograph the box and the piece and contact us, and we will sort out a replacement or a refund.
