A pooja mandir is a home temple — the cabinet that holds deity idols, diyas and puja essentials in a Hindu household. This one is hand-painted white and red with two built-in drawers, and comes in two heights so it fits either a dedicated pooja room or a compact apartment corner. Both heights can stand on the floor or hang on a wall.

Which model do I need?

Two questions decide it.

How much height do you have? Standard is 23 inches tall and 8 kg, with 7 inches of interior clearance. Large is 30 inches and 10 kg, with 10 inches of clearance. Both are 22" wide and 11" deep on the outside, and both give 20" of interior width and 8" of depth. Measure your tallest murti including its base.

Do you want the bajot? The bajot is a matching 6"H × 24"W × 12"D platform that raises the mandir to seated eye level and can also be used on its own.

Frequently asked questions

Does it arrive assembled?

Yes. It ships fully assembled — no tools and no construction. The only step is flipping the decorative crown into position.

Does it include an interior light?

No. The interior is open and unlit, which lets you fit an LED pooja light of your choice.

Can I keep a lit diya inside?

Use the pull-out drawer. Slide it open and set the diya there, so the flame sits in open air rather than inside the closed cabinet. Keep it clear of the doors and the painted surfaces, and do not leave it burning unattended.

What size idols will fit?

Standard gives 7"H × 20"W × 8"D of interior space; Large gives 10"H × 20"W × 8"D. Both are 20 inches wide inside, so either takes several idols side by side — the difference between them is headroom. Measure your tallest murti including its base, and leave room above it for a crown or a small diya.

Can it be wall mounted?

Yes. Both heights are suitable for wall hanging as well as floor-standing. Mounting hardware is not included, and at 8–10 kg it should be anchored into studs — use a professional installer if you are not confident fitting heavy furniture.

Is the bajot included?

Only on Models 2 and 4. Models 1 and 3 are the mandir alone.

How much does it weigh?

Standard 8 kg, Large 10 kg. With the bajot added, Model 2 is 15.2 kg and Model 4 is 17.2 kg — around 34 and 38 lb. Plan on two people for the bajot models.

How much do the drawers hold?

Everyday pooja essentials — a kumkum box, an incense packet, karpoor, matches, a small bell. Sized for daily items rather than bulk storage.

What is it made of?

Solid mango wood, finished with hand-embossed painting. Every piece is painted by hand in India, so small variations in the detailing are normal and are a mark of the craft rather than a defect.

How do I care for it?

Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep it out of direct sunlight so the painted finish holds its colour, and avoid water or solvent cleaners on the hand-painted surface.

What if it arrives damaged?

Shipping is insured and we cover transit damage. Photograph the damage and email contact@urliutsav.com and we will replace it or make it right.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days, in original condition and packaging. Return shipping is arranged and paid by the customer, so for an item this size please measure your space before ordering.
