Quantity

A different animal from our cow heads, and deliberately so. The bull has a broad face and wide horns that sweep outward rather than up — a longhorn silhouette, close to two feet of span in feel even at 10.5 inches wide. It is heavier, deeper and more sculptural, and it holds a wall on its own.

How it is made

Carved by hand from a single block of mango wood, with the ears cut separately and fitted. The painting is freehand throughout: the floral panel across the forehead, the fine dotted work along the muzzle, the banded collar at the base of the horns. At 1.6 kg it has real mass in the hand — the depth is where the weight sits.

The four colours

Cream, Red, White and Brown, each with contrasting horn tips and its own painted panel. Cream and White are the farmhouse choices; Red and Brown carry more of the Indian folk palette.

Where it goes

Over a fireplace, a bed, or a long console — anywhere a single object needs to carry the wall. Farmhouse and ranch interiors take it easily; so do entryways where you want one strong thing rather than a group. It reads Texan as readily as it reads Indian.

Hanging it

At 1.6 kg this needs a nail or screw driven into the wall, ideally into a stud or a drywall anchor. It is roughly twice the weight of our cow heads and 8 inches deep, so it sits well proud of the wall and puts real leverage on the fixing. Screws and wall anchors are not supplied.

Care

Dust with a dry cloth. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight so the colours hold. Do not use water or solvent cleaners on the painted surface.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from your cow heads?
Shape and scale. The cow head is tall and narrow with horns that rise in parallel; the bull is broad, with horns that curve outward. The bull is also twice the weight and nearly twice the depth, so it projects further from the wall.

Are the ears fixed or removable?
Carved separately and fitted into the head, which is how it ships without breakage. Seat each ear firmly when you unpack it; a dab of wood glue in the slot makes it permanent.

Is it heavy enough to need special fixing?
It needs a proper fixing, yes — a nail or screw into a stud or a drywall anchor. Adhesive hooks and pushpins will not hold 1.6 kg at this depth.

Can I order several?
Yes. For gallery walls, stores, events or corporate gifting, email contact@urliutsav.com and we will quote you for a bulk order.
