Thirteen pieces that set up as one arrangement: three large bowls with lotus shapes cut right through their sides, each on its own stand, plus seven small four-inch bowls to scatter around them. Light the large bowls and the cutwork throws lotus shadows onto the table. It is built to be the single centrepiece on a long table rather than one object among several.

Product details

  • Pieces: 13 (3 cutout bowls, 3 stands, 7 small bowls)
  • Large bowls: 14, 11 and 10 inches in diameter
  • Height on stand: 11 inches
  • Small bowls: 4 inches in diameter
  • Total weight: 3,800 g (approx. 8.4 lb)
  • Material: iron with a hammered gold finish
  • Decoration: lotus shapes cut through the bowl sides
  • Handmade in India
  • Not dishwasher safe. Keep dry.

Why this one

  • Thirteen pieces, and they work as a group. Three raised bowls at 11 inches tall with seven small ones at table level gives you two heights and a spread, which is what makes an arrangement read rather than look like scattered bowls.
  • The lotus is cut through, not stamped on. Light passes out through the sides of the three large bowls, so a tealight inside patterns whatever it stands on.
  • 3,800 g (approx. 8.4 lb) across the set. The stands are weighted enough that a full bowl does not tip.
  • Cheaper than buying the pieces separately, which is the reason most people choose a set this size for a wedding or a Diwali table.

What is in the set

  • 3 lotus-cutout bowls — 14, 11 and 10 inches across, 11 inches tall on their stands
  • 3 stands, one for each large bowl
  • 7 small accent bowls — 4 inches across

The stands lift off, so the three large bowls can also be used flat on a table if you want a lower arrangement.

Where it works

  • A wedding stage or a mandap edge
  • A long dining table at Diwali, the three raised bowls down the middle and the seven small ones between them
  • An entryway or a floor-level welcome arrangement
  • Satyanarayan Puja, Varalakshmi Vratam and Ganesh Chaturthi setups
  • Split up — the three large bowls in one room, the seven small ones elsewhere

Gifting

At thirteen pieces this is a substantial gift rather than a token, and it suits the occasions where a family is setting up decor for the first time — a wedding, a new house, a first Diwali. Event decorators buy it as a ready-made table set. If you need more than one, get in touch before ordering so we can confirm stock against your date and talk about price.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get to thirteen?
Three large cutout bowls, three stands and seven small bowls. The stands are counted because they are separate pieces, not welded on.
Do the stands come off?
Yes. The bowls lift off their stands, so you can use them raised or flat depending on the table.
The sides have holes in them — will they hold water?
The lotus shapes are cut right through, so these bowls do not hold water. Use them dry with petals and tealights, or set a small glass dish inside if you want a water effect.
How much space does the whole set need?
Allow about three feet of table length to lay all thirteen out with room between them. On a smaller table, use the three large bowls and keep the small ones back.
Are the seven small bowls cut out too?
No, they are plain hammered bowls. They will hold a little water or a tealight.
How tall is it on the table?
11 inches with the stand — high enough to be seen down a long table, low enough to talk across.
Is the gold solid, or a finish?
A finish. These are iron with a gold polish over the top — not solid brass and not plating. That is what puts the price where it is. It will mark if you drag it across a hard surface or knock it, so lift rather than slide it and keep pieces apart in storage. If you want metal that cannot scratch off, our brass urlis are solid all the way through.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. This is iron under a gold polish, so keep it dry — do not wash it, do not put it in the dishwasher, and do not leave it outdoors overnight. Wipe out any spilled wax or oil once it has cooled.
Can I use it outdoors?
For an evening under cover, yes. Bring it in afterwards rather than leaving it out overnight.
Can I order several for an event?
Yes — get in touch before you order if you need more than a few. We can usually help on price for larger quantities and confirm stock before you commit to a date.
What if it arrives damaged?
Every order is insured. Photograph the box and the piece and contact us, and we will sort out a replacement or a refund.
