Jharokha Wall Mirror 12x10 – 5 Hand-Painted Colours

Five hand-painted colourways of the 12 × 10 inch jharokha mirror — Red, Gable Green, Faded Purple, Yellow and Lunar Green. This is the best-rated of our small jharokhas: a straight 5.0 across seven reviews, with “the prettiest mirror I’ve ever had” among them.

The painting

Each frame is painted freehand over a solid ground. Two of these five are the sparse, confident white line work our jharokhas are known for — Red and Gable Green. The other three go further: Faded Purple carries pink and green butterflies across the top corners, Lunar Green runs orange paisley down both sides, and Yellow has small white birds perched in the arch. All five are finished by one hand from base coat to last stroke.

Hanging it

A flat metal bracket is fitted to the back, ready for a single nail or screw. At 800 g one fixing into drywall holds it. Screws and wall anchors are not supplied.

Care

Glass cleaner on the mirror, applied to the cloth rather than sprayed on the frame. Dust the painted surface with a dry cloth only.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from your other 12 × 10 jharokhas?
Same frame, same size, same price. The colours differ, and so does the style of painting on each. Buying across the listings is how people build a mixed grid.

Is the frame wood?
No — MDF, and we would rather say so. It holds a flat painted surface true and takes fine brushwork cleanly. The craft here is the painting.

It looks Moroccan to me. Is it?
It is Rajasthani. The pointed arch is shared across a lot of Islamic and South Asian architecture, which is why the two styles read as cousins — a reviewer called it a Moroccan mirror and we knew exactly what she meant.
