A shallow urli bowl suspended from a long chain of linked gold flowers, with a hook at the top. It hangs rather than stands — from a tree branch over a garden table, from a hook in a porch, or in a doorway during Diwali. The whole thing drops about 30 inches; the bowl itself is 9 inches across.

Why this one

It hangs, which almost nothing else in the range does. That puts the petals and the light at eye level instead of on a surface, and frees the table entirely.
The chain is part of the piece. Every link is a small cast flower, not plain wire, so the 30-inch drop reads as decoration in its own right.

Is the bowl 30 inches?

No — the bowl is 9 inches across. The 30 inches is the total drop from the hook to the bottom of the bowl, most of which is chain.

What is the difference between Hammered and Rose?

The bowl rim. Hammered is plain and dimpled; Rose has a ring of sculpted rose blooms around the edge. Same size, same chain, same weight. Rose is $3 more.

Does it come with a hook or fixing?

The chain ends in a hook. What that hook attaches to — a branch, a ceiling hook, a bracket — is up to you and is not included.

Can I hang it outdoors permanently?

For an evening or a weekend, yes. Not permanently: this is iron under a gold polish and rain will get under the finish. Bring it in after the event.

Can I fill it with water?

We would not. The base metal is iron under a gold polish, and standing water will eventually work under the finish and cause rust. Use it dry — petals, tealights, dry flowers — or float things in a separate glass or brass bowl set inside it. If it does get wet, dry it straight away.

Can I put a tealight in it?

Yes, and it looks best that way at dusk. Do not leave a lit flame in a swinging bowl unattended or near foliage.

Can I shorten the chain?

The links are joined, so shortening it means opening a link. Most people loop the excess over the hook instead.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. This is iron under a gold polish, so keep it dry — do not wash it, do not put it in the dishwasher, and do not leave it outdoors overnight. Wipe out any spilled wax or oil once it has cooled.

Can I order several for an event?
